The company was founded in 2024 and operates independently from any political party, government body or external interest group. Who owns Lagepunkt?

Lagepunkt is wholly owned by Lagepunkt Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar with company number C 92009, whose registered office is at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The company was established in 2024 and has no shareholders with editorial control, no political affiliation and no ties to any government or lobbying organisation.

All editorial decisions rest entirely with the editorial team in Sweden, led by Chefredaktör Thomas Kuhn. No owner, director or investor has influence over what we publish, which stories we pursue or how we cover a subject. Our governance structure is designed to protect editorial independence at every level. For full details on our editorial leadership and their responsibilities, visit our team page.

How is Lagepunkt funded?

We generate revenue through multiple transparent streams: display advertising on our website, affiliate links that earn a small commission when readers purchase products or services through those links, commercial partnerships with carefully selected organisations, sponsored content that is always clearly labelled, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing agreements with third-party platforms. Each funding source is disclosed in accordance with our policies.

Affiliate links are identified with clear disclosure language near the link, and sponsored content carries a prominent label — typically “Sponsored” or “Paid Content” — at the top of the article. No advertiser, sponsor or partner can influence story selection, reporting angles or editorial conclusions. Our advertising and affiliate disclosure policy and sponsored content policy set out these rules in full. Display advertising is sold directly and through third-party networks; all ads are reviewed to ensure they meet our standards and do not mislead readers.

What you can expect from us

Every article published on Lagepunkt is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication, with our editorial mission being trustworthy Swedish journalism that helps readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification. AI-assisted tools may support research, formatting, translation, headline options or transcription, but never replace human editorial judgement — every piece is approved by a human editor, and AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines or expert profiles.

Our editorial policy, fact-checking policy and AI and automation policy detail these commitments. Commercial relationships are kept entirely separate from editorial work: no advertiser, sponsor or partner can determine what we cover or how we report it. If content is commercially influenced in any way, it carries a clear and specific label so you always know exactly what you are reading. Our sources and standards page explains how we verify information and handle anonymous sources.

Who is responsible for editorial governance?

Thomas Kuhn, Chefredaktör, is accountable for all editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections at Lagepunkt, ensuring that every piece meets our quality and ethics requirements before and after publication. He can be reached at anders.lindqvist@lagepunkt.de or +46 8 525 030 61.

The editorial team includes Maria Müller as Redaktionschef (daily newsroom operations, headline review, commissioning), Niklas Zimmermann as Politikredaktör (riksdagen, regeringen, kommunpolitik), Johanna Fuchs as Wirtschaftreporter (ekonomi, marknader, hushållsekonomi), Maximilian Roth as Kultur- och samhällsredaktör (kultur, livsstil, samhälle) and Lisa Schumacher as Ansvarig för faktagranskning (fact-checking, source verification, corrections). Each team member has a named area of responsibility and published contact details on our team page. If you have a concern about accuracy, our corrections policy and complaints procedure outline exactly how we investigate and resolve issues.

How can I advertise or partner with Lagepunkt?

Advertising and partnership enquiries should be directed to advertising@lagepunkt.de for display and newsletter advertising, or partnerships@lagepunkt.de for commercial collaborations, content licensing and sponsorship opportunities. All commercial arrangements are governed by our advertising and affiliate disclosure policy and sponsored content policy, which ensure full transparency for our readers.

We work with display advertisers, newsletter sponsors, affiliate partners and content licensing clients who share our commitment to trustworthy journalism. We do not accept advertising or sponsorship that would compromise our editorial independence, mislead our audience, or promote products or services that conflict with our values.
